Today, I feel happy, happy. I'm working on assembling bouquets for Mother's day and I realize the long way we have come from last year. Last year we had only Anemones and I was able to assemble 11 bouquets to take to Local Roots. Today I'm just getting started and I have more than double that with 6 other varieties of flowers and greens. Today its a good day in my world!

Running Around
Things in the hoophpuse are almost happening too fast. We had a day with 82 degrees and I found myself running and picking as many tulips as I could before they all open up. The Anemones are looking great and I have a few orders to fulfill for this week, so that is good news.
The Rananculus have suffered at the hands of aphid this season and I have been diligent about spraying Neem. It seems to be making a difference, but we lost a few plants......
I'm waiting for Spring to take a strong hold to put all these babies out on the field. That's going to be a happy and busy dayf or us all.

Early Spring Happenings!
I think daffodils are so pretty! Most people are used to seeing a few varieties in the store, but there are so many more and incredibly beautiful. A couple of years ago we planted about 1000 of the heirloom varieties and they amazed me every time I see them opening.
Ah!!!! Rananculus buds!!!!
Today was a very nice day, considering the cool Spring we have been having. Tonight the temperatures once again plummet and the hoophouse gets covered and closed tightly. I'm hoping this is the last time I do this chore since the forecast hints at warmer winds coming our way.

A Great Weekend
This is my very first walk in cooler! I'm very excited about having this piece of equipment in our farm. I'll be able to keep my flowers in top shape for my customers and that its a plus, plus, plus. My husband and a friend assembled it in just over 2 hours. Now Spring can come and make its appearance. I'm ready.
The anemones and the tulips look great. I'll be harvesting anemones this week and hoping for more sunshine so I can bring some real beauties to our local Co-op.

Inspecting the Fields
This is that time of year when I do several rounds of inspecting on the perennial beds. The truth is.. way too many rounds!. I feel a jolt of happiness when I see something popping out of the soil, unfurling, emerging, so I just want to feel it over and over again. Here some peonies are making their appearance.

Light!!!
February was hard on me psychologically. I'm so ready to get my hands on the dirt and my mind onto better more colorful things. This sunset was the perfect ending to a beautiful day.

Dahlia Goodness
Dahlias take dedication and care. The effort is well worth it when you glance at the field flooded with color.

Double Coverage
With these very cold temperatures, the anemones and rananculus get tucked under a layer of Agrobon. I just cross my fingers that they'll make it to spring. In the middle row I have 1400 tulips planted. Can't wait!!
